WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT YOUR CHURCH?
City of Refuge is a young and growing ministry located in South Central Richmond. We are a friendly, family oriented congregation that looks to make a difference in our community. Established in 2009, in a short time, City of Refuge has made a tremendous impact on the community and strives to do greater things in the future. We would love to have you and your family to join us as we endeavor to build a city of refuge for God’s people in the city of Richmond.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING SUNDAY SERVICES?
Our Sunday services are powerful and uplifting. Our service is structured for 90 mins however our praise may take us over our time! Following a short period for singing songs of praise and worship, our pastor, or designated minister, will bring forth the morning sermon. After the conclusion of the sermon individuals and families may come up for special prayer.

WHAT IS YOUR DRESS CODE?
We invite you to “come as you are” to our services. Many people dress up for service, others wear business casual, which seems to be most popular, while others wear “everyday” attire. The bottom line is that dress isn’t the issue. Instead get ready to experience a truly warm and welcoming atmosphere with open arms of God’s love.

DO YOU STREAM YOUR SERVICES?
We provide live stream of our Weekly Worship Service, Mid-Week Call to Prayer, and First Friday Fire on our Facebook Fan Page and Youtube Channel. Our weekly bible study is streamed via Zoom and our Facebook Group Page. Subscribe to our channel, City of Refuge RVA, and view live and previously recorded worship services.

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE SOMEONE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?
Yes, we welcome everyone to our worship services. We are a caring congregation and our facility has ample handicap parking, double-door entrance, spacious restrooms, and flexible seating to accommodate those with special needs.

WHAT IS CORPORATE PRAYER?
At 10:30 a.m. before our service begins all of our leaders, program participants, and those serving or ministering gather for a pre-service intercessory prayer. During the 15 minutes a hymn is sung, prayer requests and praise reports are shared, and a designated person leads the prayer. All are welcome to attend. In fact, you may experience the overflow of prayer as we transition to our morning service at 10:45 a.m.

WHAT IS KID’S ACADEMY?
From 9:45 - 10:30 a.m. our children (ages 12 and under) gather for Sunday School and Children’s Church. The kids enjoy an age- appropriate bible lesson followed by a nutritious snack before morning service begins.
